A Letter to International Students for the 2026 Summer Vacation

Dear Students,

All blooming flowers have faded to dust, and the cuckoo’s chirps herald the arrival of a fresh summer. Another fulfilling and wonderful semester has drawn to a close, and summer vacation is finally here. To help you enjoy a safe, healthy, civilized and joyful holiday, the school hereby offers the following reminders.

I. Vacation Schedule

The summer break runs from July 20 to September 3. All on-campus students shall return to school before September 6 and complete registration on September 4, 7 and 8. Formal classes will resume on September 7. Please make preparations for leaving and returning to campus in advance as required. If you are unable to return for registration on time due to special circumstances, submit a leave application to your college promptly.

II. Safety Guidelines

Safety never takes a holiday. Whether you stay on campus for study or internships, return to your hometown for family reunions, or travel afar, you must always uphold a strong sense of safety and take full responsibility for your personal safety. Keep safety awareness deep in your heart and put it into practice.

1. Dormitory Safety

Before leaving your dorm, tidy up your room, lock doors and windows, and keep your valuables safe. To prevent fire hazards, turn off all power supplies and inspect electrical appliances and sockets. Do not store flammable or explosive items in the dorm. If you remain on campus during the vacation, smoking, open flames and burning items are strictly prohibited to avoid fires. Abide by dorm management rules, safeguard your belongings and never host outsiders overnight. Do not use electric heating devices, high-power appliances, alcohol stoves, liquefied gas stoves or other dangerous equipment, and refrain from random wiring. In case of emergencies, contact your counselor or relevant school departments immediately. 2. Travel Safety

Stay alert to protect your personal and property safety on your trips home and back to school. Observe traffic rules and only take licensed official vehicles; never ride unlicensed illegal cabs. When travelling, take proper self-protection, visit official scenic spots and avoid unregulated wild outdoor adventures. Limit travel at night or in severe weather. Stay vigilant against flood risks during the flood season. Keep track of weather warnings. Minimize outdoor activities during thunderstorms and strong winds, and steer clear of mountains, river channels, low-lying land and other dangerous areas. Learn flood prevention and self-rescue skills. In the event of sudden floods, stay calm, evacuate to high ground via designated safe routes and call for help without delay.

3. Personal Safety

Arrange your daily routine reasonably and take heatstroke prevention measures; avoid outdoor activities during peak high-temperature hours. Strengthen your awareness of laws and self-protection, abide by all laws and regulations, and refrain from organizing or participating in unauthorized mass gatherings to steer clear of potential risks. Learn essential safety knowledge and stay away from dangerous zones. Only swim at venues with professional lifeguards and safety facilities. Inform your relatives and friends of your whereabouts whenever you go out, and keep your phone accessible at all times to guarantee personal safety.

4. Internship & Job Hunting Safety

Screen recruitment information carefully. Do not blindly trust job offers promising excessive salaries, or contacts from long-lost acquaintances or unknown companies. Stay alert to pyramid schemes and part-time job fraud, and avoid illegal premises. Protect your personal information at all times. If you encounter dangerous situations, stay calm, prioritize your personal safety, and reach out to your family, friends or the school for assistance as soon as possible.

5. Cybersecurity & Telecommunication Fraud Prevention

Prioritize online safety and guard against all types of scams. Do not indulge in online games. Express your opinions rationally online; do not create, believe or spread rumors. Avoid unfamiliar online games, live streaming rooms, QQ groups, WeChat groups and forums, and never click unknown links. Protect your personal privacy and watch out for telecom scams including brush-order fraud, fake customer service impersonation and fake law enforcement officers. Boost awareness of financial risks and reject illegal online loans. If you spot suspicious activity, call the police or contact school authorities for verification immediately.

III. Holiday Planning

Cherish every moment, for time waits for no one. Vacation is a precious period for self-improvement and accumulation. We encourage you to plan your holiday wisely and turn your break into a season of growth.

·Settle down to read a classic book to cultivate your inner self through literature;

·Take part in a social practice to learn about national conditions and people’s livelihood through real experience;

·Stick to a regular sport to strengthen your willpower through exercise;

·Take initiative to share housework to build a sense of responsibility in small daily tasks. Broaden your horizons and enrich your abilities during the vacation. Make every day count and never let youth fade away in laziness. May you chase your dreams and forge ahead with diligence to spend a fulfilling and rewarding summer break.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our beautiful campus in golden September, with fruitful gains from your holidays!
