Our school and the "EU - China Trade Project"jointly organized "GATS and Financial Services" seminar

On December 5 to 6, our school and the "EU - China Trade Project (EU-China Trade Project)" have jointly organized the <<General Agreement on Trade in Services >> (GATS) and the financial services sector", an outstanding EU-China seminar, which was held in Beijing Finance Street Ritz-Carlton (Ritz Carlton). Li Junsheng, vice president of our school has attended the seminar’s opening ceremony and has delivered a speech. The opening ceremony was chaired by vice president of the School of International Cultural Exchange Zhang Qi Kun.

The European Commission Delegation Counselor Mr. Javier Arribas Quintana, German Embassy Commercial Counselor Mr. Nikolai Putscher, the European Commission International Organizations in Geneva’s Counselor, Mr. Sergio Balibrea and Mr. Li Zhongzhou, EU - China WTO Trade Project chief expert have all attended the the seminar.

Representatives from the Ministry of Commerce, People's Bank of China, China Securities Regulatory Commission, China Banking Regulatory Commission and China Insurance Regulatory Commission and other relevant departments have also attended the seminar.

Vice president Li Junsheng, in his speech, has introduced the history, the key disciplines, and modernization of the buildings of our university. He has also talked about the current situations of the Chinese economy, the process of opening the Chinese financial services market to the WTO, the financial services industry regulatory and other issues.

The World Bank consultant Mr. Pierre Sauve, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee of European Securities Administrators, Mr. Antoine Van Cauwenberg, the European Commission Delegation in Geneva Counselor Mr. Sergio Balibrea, Mr. Nikolai Putscher, German Embassy Commercial Counselor and Mr. Hong Xiaodong, Director of WTO Commerce Department Division of Trade in Services, with extensive international experiences in the financial sector have made keynote speeches.
