2007 International Student Chinese Speech Contest held by SICE

       “Meeting in Beijing, Expecting Olympic Games—the 2007 International Student Chinese Speech Contest” was held on December 19 in classroom 218 of the main teaching building. About 30 international students participated in the contest and affectionately expressed their feelings about studying in CUFE and Beijing and conveyed their expectation of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

       The contest was divided into elementary, intermediate and degree students . Some students of elementary group have touched Chinese only for three months and even the longest is no more than seven months. Although the expression of their Chinese is very limited, their courage and confidence was encouraged and praised by everybody.

       After three hours’ competition, Ruan Haifeng and Chen Chunbei who come from Vietnam respectively won the first-class award of elementary and intermediate group. The student Nuo Yicheng from Thailand won the first-class award of degree students group.

       The associate Dean of School of International Cultural Exchange, Dr. Zhang Qikun and Yuan Shaofeng and the deputy secretary of Communist Youth League, Ms Yu Xiaoming enjoyed the speech contest and awarded the students.
